Our Dental Advantages
We know that no one likes going to the dentist. That's why our office is staffed with caring, gentle and knowledgeable people who offer the highest quality care available. We also provide the latest in technology to make your dental visits as comfortable as possible.
With all of our technology and amenities, you'll almost forget you're at the dentist!
Our office offers the following dental advantages and technology:
* Pain Free Injections -
We know that no one likes getting shots. So, we have several tools to try to make the injection process as pain free as possible. This includes the following:
Topical Anesthetic gel - This is a pre- numbing gel to help minimize the pinch of the shot.
Anesthetic Warmer - By heating up the anesthetic to body temperature, it makes for a more comfortable delivery of anesthesia.
Vibrating Retractor - Its high frequency vibration effectively masks the needle pinch and discomfort because the nerve endings sense the vibration sensation first.
Dentapen - This is a computer controlled anesthetic delivery device. It is not as scary looking as the syringe most dentist use, and because the computer delivers the anesthetic so slowly, most patients consider it to be virtually pain free.
* Anesthetic Reversing Agent -
Most people stay numb for around 4 hours after they get an injection. No one likes being numb. People have jobs they have to get back to, meetings they have to attend, and phone calls they need to make. That's why we offer Oraverse, an anethetic reversing agent. With this reversing agent, we can cut down on the amount of time you are numb after your procedure from 4 hours to 45 minutes!
* Accelerated In-Office Whitening - Zoom!
With this procedure, you can get the whiter, brighter smile you've always wanted in a short period of time.
* Oral Cancer Screenings
Oral cancer screenings are a very important part of the dental visit for the patient. The American Cancer Society estimates that roughly 10,000 people die of oral cancer each year. If a problem is detected early, it can be treated before it becomes a major irreversible problem.
Certain lifestyle choices can have a great impact on the health of tissues and your overall health in the mouth. If you are a smoker or heavy drinker, make sure to get regular visits to the dentist so that your oral cancer screening can be done.
*Digital X-Rays -
Digital x-rays provide a higher quality image than traditional film x-rays while at the same time exposing the patient to less radiation. Digital x-rays can use up to 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays. Furthermore, digital x-rays are instantaneous. So, you don't have to wait for the film to be processed. This saves you time!
*Panorex -
A panorex is an imaging machine in that it is capable of identifying many issues and structures that a normal x-ray cannot. Your chin is placed on a small ledge. Once positioned, the machine will rotate around your entire head taking a full 360 degree view of the teeth, head, sinuses and bones.
The ability to view the full structure of your head as a whole is very informative and will allow us to see any potential problems. The panorex allows us to check for specific types of structural problems, infections, asymmetry, etc.
*Intraoral Scanner -
The intraoral scanner is a way to capture the image of your teeth rather than taking an impression. A lot of patients have a very strong gag reflex.Taking digital impressions is more comfortable for patients. It is faster, more accurate, and there's no messy impression material in your mouth.
*Laser -
With this gentle technology, we can do many soft tissue procedures that often do not even require anesthetic.
* Intra-oral Camera -
The intraoral camera is an amazing diagnostic tool . With this camera, you can see what the dentist is seeing. This helps you to visualize the teeth that need treatment. The camera gives us the ability to magnify the entire mouth on a monitor so that we can view any potential issues or problems. These digital images are also excellent for gaining procedure acceptance from insurance companies.
* Computerized Voice Activated Peridontal Charting -
With this new technology, we can check your gums more consistently and more comfortably.
* Magnification Glasses -
Dr. Slone wears these magnifying glasses throughout a patients treatment so that she is better able to perfectly visualize all the small details in your mouth and teeth.
*Isolite -
Isolite is the only dental device that delivers continuous illumination, aspiration and retraction all in one easy-to-use, time-saving device that makes isolation easy and provides uninterrupted access to the patient
*Rotary Endodontics -
Endodontics, more commonly referred to as a root canal, is a procedure where the nerves of the tooth are removed from the root. This is often due to the tooth being infected and causing pain.
Rotary Endodontics is a way of performing the root canal utilizing a specialized handpiece. This tool often makes the procedure faster and allows the dentist to do the root canal with greater ease.
*Cavijet -
Air polishing is used to efficiently remove heavy stain from teeth during a cleaning visit. Air polishing provides a faster, and less invasive technique to maintain beautiful, healthy teeth.
*Diagnodent -
DIAGNOdent aids in the detection of cavities. We offer a unique service that can detect cavities at the earliest stage. With the diagnodent, cavity detection can be accomplished in even the smallest lesions that don’t even appear on X-rays! This enables us to treat the cavity early so that we can protect and preserve your tooth structure.
